About the Course

Journaling therapy is a powerful tool that can help you process your emotions, gain insight into your thoughts and behaviours, and ultimately promote your overall mental health and wellbeing. What you can expect: Initial Assessment - Setting Goals Initial assessment: At the start of your first session, We will conduct an initial assessment to learn more about you, and your reasons for seeking journaling therapy. This will help our tailor the sessions to your specific needs. Setting goals: Once we have a better understanding of your needs, we will work together to set specific goals for your journaling therapy sessions. These goals may include improving your mood, reducing stress and anxiety, increasing self-awareness, or developing more effective coping mechanisms, creating a roadmap to your goals. Journaling exercises: During the session, you will be guided through various journaling exercises designed to help you explore your thoughts and emotions in a structured way. These exercises may involve prompts, writing exercises, meditations, talk therapy or creative activities like drawing or collage-making. Reflection and discussion: After completing the journaling exercises, you will be encouraged to reflect on what you have written or created, and to discuss your thoughts and feelings. This discussion can help you gain further insight into your emotions and behaviours, and identify patterns or triggers that may be contributing to your mental health concerns. Homework and follow-up: At the end of each session, you may be given homework assignments to complete between sessions, such as continuing to journal or practicing specific coping skills. They may also schedule follow-up appointments to track your progress and adjust the therapy as needed. Overall, journaling therapy sessions are a safe and supportive space for you to explore your emotions, gain insight into your thoughts and behaviours, and work towards your mental health goals.
